We are almost there!!

We finished our Confined Water dives this past weekend and passed our exams! We both made a 96% (go us)!

Confined Water was alot easier than I expected, the hardest part was the 200 yard swim, at least for me. That sounds really easy until you have to do it. The deal is you have to swim 200 yards (2 football fields) nonstop in your swimsuit, so no fins for kicking and no wetsuit for bouyancy. It's alot harder than you would think, but I got through it. Then of course after that you take a small break and tread water for 10 minutes. There were alot of interesting aspects and you really have to learn to trust your regulator (as my dive instructor says, the "little breathy thing") and your gauges. There was one exercise where he turns off your air at depth, mostly so that you learn your gauge, know how to signal "I am out of air" to your buddy and know what it feels like to run out of air. It was really interesting that he turns off your air and you still have several breaths of air left just in your hoses. Alot of fun stuff and we highly recommend it to anyone interested! We haven't even gotten to the good stuff yet!!!

This weekend we have 5 Open Water dives at some really great springs in FL, and then we will be certified! We are both interested in going into some specialty areas like Search and Rescue and Cave/Cavern Diving. So, we will see where our newfound adventure takes us!

Wish us luck next weekend, we are looking forward to it! We are going to try to get some pictures this wekeend, so we can share!
